Hi I'm doing my engine rebuild on my gsx but I live in cny so it is rusted to hell and back. long story short my parents are giving me money for a car and they want my pos or as I call it my belovid dsm out of the garage because it never runs.I was wondering why can't I just cut the balance shaft on the oil pump. Won't that do the same thing as putting in a new stubby shaft. I'm selling the car as soon as I finish the engine rebuild. So I'm trying to save on cash.

Not a bad idea. I'd find a friend with a lathe and see if you could knock the rust off with some sandpaper and keep it within spec. Define "to hell and back"

Theres plenty of options. I just ordered the 14$ mirage stub shaft and installed it. Make sure to block the oil holes on the rear balance shaft. And port you OFH due to your going to have higher oil pressure as well.

what i was talking about with the rust is the car its self. the rockers are completely gone. i can put my hanjd through it in the rear wheel wells and all under the car where the pinch weld is is almost completely rusted away. sheet metal and a welder.
