my car was making a ticking at ideal but went away off ideal. i took the timing housing off and the blance shaft belt was broke. have i damaged my motor by driving it like this?

Yea for sure on the timing belt. No elimination kit. Designed w it so Ima leave it Haha. Well now I should have a solid car to mod on.

I've heard that not having the balance shaft belt hooked up can cause premature wearing of the rear balance shaft bearing. You may have damage to the bearing and maybe that's why it threw the belt. I would seriously think about doing away with them while you're there. Remember that the balance shafts spin at twice engine rpm so at 7k on the engine the shafts are spinning at 14k.If the balance shaft belt comes off again it could take out the timing belt and cause chaos in the valvetrain.
