Just finished installing a quartermaster twin disc clutch and trying to figure out what is causing this vibration. Basically it's at any speed, but only accelerating or decelerating. If you keep the throttle steady it doesn't vibrate.
Any ideas?
It was fine before the swap . It has to be some kind of driveline vibration.

Riley, did you use gear drive disks or regular hub disks? Did you evenly torque down the flywheel and clutch cover fasteners? The clutch will definitely have more harmonics than a single disk clutch. Most notably though you would hear it on Decel.

I bought the standard quartermaster twin disc. I think I told you I had the gear driven QM but I was mistaken. It's the cheaper of the two quartermasters. I evenly torqued the clutch bolts to 24 ft lbs, quartermaster flywheel to 100 ft lbs.

Is it possible that after changing from a single to a twin disc that it has uncovered vibrations in the driveshaft or somethig?

I was expecting some more noise and maybe a small amount of vibration but this is pretty bad. The part that gets me is if my foot is steady on the gas (not accelerating or decelerating) there is no vibration at all...

Hmmm, you have confirmed that the clutch fork is clearanced properly and not hitting the clutch cover bolts? As well, you are certain you have the clutch disk orientation proper during install? If the flywheel-side disk is the wrong orientation you would have uneven wear as well as the offset hub would likely only be partially engaging the input shaft splines which would cause issues. It has been a long long time since I dealt with the standard hub disks as well as there have been design adjustments since I last ran them in 2007/2008.

Yes the clutch fork clears the cover bolts. I am 99% sure the discs are in the right orientation. I had triple checked them before installation. I honestly can't think of what would cause this. Unless going from a stock flywheel and single disc to a lightweight flywheel and twin disc has uncovered vibrations somewhere else... Or maybe it's just the clutch itself and I will have to deal with it? Hope not.

On a better note- the transmission feels awesome!!!
