bad valve check?

Is there a way to check with the valve cover off to see if i have a bad or floating valve? I did a pressure test with a gauge and vacuum line and it flutters pretty bad. I used the vacuum port at the top driver side of the intake manifold. I had 13 psi coming from that spot but it bounced up and down a lot. I have had suspicion that i might have a bad intake valve so i ask is there a way to check my valves with the valve cover off before i remove the head?

Are you sure you don't have a boost leak in that area? Quite a few places that could be leaking that pressure giving an inconsistent reading.

If you have the tools, perform a leakdown test and let us know the results.

With a vaccume gague hooked up at the Intake @idle, NO boost

Check to see if the needle is steady, if so valve seating should be fine in the head
If the needle jumps around, then there is a valve seat issue, IE: bent or burnt valve

No real way to check for valve float, on the car.
The valve springs maybe weak if they are the factory installed springs

agreed to what the wiseman said i vote a valve seat issue, probably have a cracked valve seat i dont know if they are pressed seats or not or carbon buildup
