ok so ive been having this problem for awhile now i changed the IAC and the coil. they both helped a little but didnt fix the problem i can rev up to 4.5k and it starts cutting out any ideas on what this could be? or if anyone in the swmo area has a 420a ecu they would be willing to let me try for a minute to rule that out it would be great

plugs are new and so are the wires the coil pack was working but i was just outside trying to start it and now its not getting spark so i guess im going to try to find a new coil again. i replaced it once and it still didnt fix it but i guess maybe it was due to the IAC and the coil pack being bad.

Hmm i dont believe it would be the ecu. Usually, but not always, if your ecu is shot your car will not run, or run like s**t. I would try around with a couple other, and less expensive things first.

Well my ECU took a crap on me a while back and to make sure it was the ECU I orderd one from a place called MOTOGUYS GARAGUE. They say if it doesn't fix the problem then they will refund your money. I got it tried it and it was the problem(but I needed EPROM) told them and they gave me a full refund when they recieved it back. It doesn't really sound like an ECU issue because it runs (like the post above me already stated). Try everything else but if you wan't, order one from motoguys just to rule it out.

95 ECU's are more likely to go out then on any other DSM...There's something that can fail in them which controls the high speed injector signal and that will cause symptoms like yours. I have an extra (tested working) 95 ECU for a 5 speed if you'd be interested. Just PM me...

The OP has a 420A, not a 4G63. I doubt they can do whatever it is they do with a 420A ECU.

OP, I'd just replace the TPS. It sounds like yours is bad. You can go through the recommended tests in the FSM, it shouldn't take more than fifteen minutes, but a good used TPS should only cost about $10 or so.
