Why would you think that the sychros are bad? Did you have problems with gear grinding? If this was the case while that baby is out of the car take it apart and fix it or send it off to be fixed. You will be asking for trouble putting it back in the car with any known issues. Also may I ask what color was you fluid when you drained it?
