Hey guys i just purchased a really clean 2g 95 talon esi car has the 420a motor with a auto trans. Cars in great condition i purchased it for only 750 bucks. I bought this car as a decent little daily driver for work and back since it has AC.

anyways i purchased car knowing theres somthing wrong with the auto trans. The issue the trans is haveing is when im at a dead stop and go to take off car doesnt wanna hardly go at all. Motor revs up as car slowly gets up and going. its acting just like a 5 speed clutch slipping. I also happened to notice that when i push the overdrive button in nothing happens at all same thing as i put car into L or 2nd gears nothing happens at all. When i put car into D car slowly gains speed as im reving car up. What would be causeing this in my car??

Im new to the automatic schene i know alot more about the 5 speeds sorry guys so bare with me.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Since this is gonna become my new daily i need to try and get this fixed and resolved asap.

Like what was said before, you need a rebuild..The good thing is that its not broke, just needs all the clutch packs replaced...I would find out who in town rebuilds them and find the best price..If you take it out yourself and bring it to them, it should save you about $500 in labor..
You could also find a low mileage one in the junkyard and switch it out...

that trans doesn't have any bands and if the clutches are slipping you will have a gear ratio code . so scan it for codes and if it is slipping the fluid will smell burnt.

Easiest thing first. Drain the fluid, replace the filter, and fill it to a proper level with ATF+4, nothing else. Any other fluid will kill the transmission, which may already be the case.

usually when the filter is clogged or the front pump fails you will have a loss of prime code.

Was told fluid was recently changed with ATF4 but they never changed the filter LOL. Could u possibly send me the link on youtube that shows how to do the clutch pack replacement please?? Also just took it down to a friends shop and theres no codes poping up at all. He said the speed sensor is workin i guess.

Is there really any way i can tell if its the torq conv? I really dont wanna spend 400+ dollars on another trans if its something small easy fix.... If the trans is bad guys then please explain to me why after takin car for a drive with car slipping in first bad then i can come up to a stop sign then shut car off then start car right back up immediately and car takes off without any slip for the first 10 secs or so. Its acting like as if the car is going to limp mode after about 10 sec after start up or so... Please explain how this is possible if trans is bad??

Like I said, do a flush and fill with a filter before you throw money at it. You'd be surprised how much of a difference the right fluid and filter make. Do that and reset the computer then report back.

when you recycle the key the trans resets itself and starts from 1st gear or it can take off in 2nd gear if there is a active fault code . the trans will go into a limp in mode and you will have only one gear . you should scan it for codes .
