ok so i just bought a 96 RS 5speed

bought for $550 because it had been sitting for 2 months and needed an alt, a battery and a tire

here is my problem

through first and second gear, if i romp even a little, i hear a vibration like something is hitting up against my firewall

if im easy with the clutch and throttle i can start out and continue driving without it happening at all

i can rock my motor back and forth approx. 2 inchs, give or take

due to how i can get it to not due it if i am easy with it, in my mind i have ruled out the tranny itself, and the axles, and its not the tires because i can go 80 on the freeway with no vibration at all

one thing i did notice, the gap between my driver tire and my fender near the door, is narrower then the passenger side. i haven't actually taken a tape measure to it, but on my passenger side i can fit 4 fingers wide, driver i can do about 3

so if anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate them

also have some idle and hard start issues but will post them separately

thanks guys

also forgot to mention, passenger side lower control arm and ball joint appear new, as well as the axles
