bad idle with maf on

hello I have a 98 GST. took the tranny out to get serviced. put back in and it acts like it cant breath. took off the MAF to see if turbo was stuck, spun free. started car with MAF off ran fine. put back on same bad idle. so I hooked up dsm link found that my coolant temp was snapped. fixed that but still has a bad idle. I read some post saying bad/dirty idle air control valve, I am going to try to clean in. I am just stumped I just need some input

Did you unplug the maf or just remove it from the turbo? Have you done a boost leak test? Can you post a log from dsmlink?

Did you say you unplugged MAS and it ran fine without, but plugging it in makes it worse?? If so, then there's your answer. You may have a bad MAF.

Do a boost leak test. A boost leak will cause a bad idle with the MAF plugged in.

Yeah do a boost leak test, its a good place to start on an issue like this.
