bad fpr or o2 sensor or ????

So i just drove 13 mile and wasted 1/4 tank of gas. I cruised at 35-50 mph. no pulls. for some reason it feel like i get better mpg on street rather than highway. Also, i notice the temp gauge will rise really high then drop off half way back to normal. I have seen the temp needle twitch around in the past. There is hesitation on the car right around 3000 rpm and the power doesnt seem to be all there. I have a test pipe installed, could that be trowing off my fuel trims? the cel light is on but i figured it was ### of the cat delete, Better check for any other codes. Since this is my dd and dont want to go past stage 1, therefore, I have no logger or dsmlink. do you think the temp problem could be related to my fuel problems or doi have separete issues? thanks for the advice in advanced. Dont have to much cash laying around and i want to spend it wisely.

Honestly even if you don't plan to go far in the stages a logger is still amazing to have, especially for things like this. Did you notice the decreased mileage after the test pipe install?

Also the temp. problem is probably from something separate then your stumble issue.

nope didnt notice drop in mpg when the test pipe went on. but i have had some people tell me that it does effect it and others on this forum tell me that thats not true for our cars. not sure whats what. how do i go abt diagonising the issue with the fuel?

Pull out the oil dip stick and smell it.If it smells like gas i would stop driven it until u figure it out. You dont want to take the chance of washing out the rings.

ok, the oil smells like oil....how do i test the fpr?

A test pipe will effect the reading in only the 2nd o2 sensor and that sensor does nothing for fuel trims.

Since needles are twitching I'm suspecting electrical problems

so then you think it might be the upper o2 sensor? do you know how to test the fpr?

What code does your check engine light set. As per coolant temp. Gauge you may have a problem with the sensor.

i just got the code reader from a frind and it came up p1105= fuel pressure selonoid. i went to autozone , kragen , and napa and no one seems to have it. where can i pick one up?

I had that same code come up. I Clear it and it never came back. But soon after an o2 sensor code came up. Clear it and see what happens. If It comes back there is a writeup on that code Search just the dtc number.

i cleared it as well but its back on now. im just having trouble finding a store that carries it in my area. looks like ima have to go to the dealer for it.

Search the code there's a thread that explains how to repair it. I'll see if I can find it. But do the search!
