i have 1g tsi fwd talon... i just swapped a 2g tranny into my car... now when we try to put the driver side axle in it seems like it doesnt want to pop in like its too small or something. Do i need an axle from a 2g or what am i doing wrong?????

Actually i have a 99 tranny in my 90 gsx and i had the boots replaced an had a hella time getting them back on. im a technician an it took about 1hr on one side because the little C clip on the end of the axle, it has to line up perfectly or it will not go at all. Hope that helps.

ok well the passenger side went right in.... its like the driver side axle where it goes into the tranny is smaller or something ### its just spinning and not popping in right

yeah i had the same problem with the driver side. i actually got it to the point where it would spin the wheels but it was not all the way in then after a while it finnally went in.if u got one in already the other one will fit.

well i got it to clip in but its still just spinning like the teeth arent catching.... anybody have any help on this one?????????

ok now i went back over to the passenger side axle and it is moving around like it has room to move around... like the axles are too small!!! anybody know if a 95 and up axle is bigger than a 1g axle????

No bumping.

well of all the knowledgeable people on this site not one person can tell me if a 95 axle is bigger than a 92!!! thats kinda crazy... after getting tired of waiting for anyone to respond on here i went to my local autozone and had them go get a 95 axle... well it turns out that they are bigger so now they fit

So do you have to build a bastard-child hybrid axle, use 2G hubs, or are the axles somehow identical in every other aspect and dimension except the inner splines?

well the axle part its self is actually bigger in diameter but other than that everything else is the same size
