I have a great 240sx swap idea. I have my flame suit on.... LOL
One of my buddies thought it was horrible....
One of my buddies thinks it is a bad ass idea....
I am thinking of getting a S13, and swapping in a 4g63, probably the EVO 8 motor. I was thinking, and it would be a long term project. I could fab up the parts, and see what happens. With 450-600 hp in a small 240, I could imagine this would be hell on wheels. Powered by a real motor (not some SR20, I do not like them) I feel this would be pretty awesome.
Comments welcome.
:dsm:

Yeah, fabbing will be totaly rough, but I think I can pull it off.
My buddy is doing a 13B swap I will be assisting him with. That one will be tough too, but much more strait forward.
4g63 FTW
SR20 FTL :dsm:

I contest unless you drive to columbus and let let me whip it sideways

Gixr, I am not sure on the trans yet. A manual of some sort.
My buddy and I have came to a few conclusions. Could make the EVO one work, and plug the side CV holes.
Or, this was another idea.
Using a older Borg Warner, IE ford truck 4 spd or such, that has the tranny shaft sticking out..... (if you understand what I mean) and fab our own bellhousing.

OMG ..i was thinking about the same thing earlier today i bouth a 92 240sx hatback for $300 the motor does not run but the body is in great shape and rust free i say go for it
ill probally do the same but use a 6bolt :thumb::rocks:

Hell yeah man, I think it is a great idea.
A 6 bolt would for sure be easier and cheaper!!!!! The only reason I want to do the EVO swap is because I have toyed with 6 bolts, and want something truly different. I want this to be a challenge. I think it will be.

Transmission is the hard part, finding one that works and handles the power you're looking to put down. Mighty Max/D50 trannies are said to be good for 300-350hp range. Theres a bell housing to use Toyota w58 trannies but I think I've read maybe 400hp with those. I do know of a mini trucker who has a mighty max with a 4g63 and a Viper tranny using a custom made bellhousing but wouldn't give me any further info. Last if you have a glide, give buschar a call for their adapter plate.

Then its a bit of fun working out the wiring. You'd need to find a good parts car to pull most of the harness, then maybe look into a universal harness or go standalone. Fab up some engine mounts, a trans mount. Custom driveshaft...

If you want a challenge you could try running a time better the 15. Not to be harsh, but if you can't build a DSM into the 12's then I think a 240SX/DSM hybrid is out of the question.

You're going to want to use the mighty max engine/tranny combo. They're already RWD. From there, you might want to look into using a 4G64 crank for the stroker and build the motor while you have it out. I dont think it would be THAT rough. I've heard of a 4G into a honda. That's gotta be rough.

Laser, quite alright. I do not have a timeslip of my fastest run. I pushed a mid 13 with a horribly notchy missed gear, and just one of my first times at the strip. I do not have that slip anymore, and I will not put it in my profile if I do not have it.
My brother and I had a Laser we worked with, ran 12.60s, and trust me. I have the know-how to build a fast 4g63.

Or you could just simply go with the 2JZ GTE engine with a 5 speed R154 tranny, and you don't have to build the motor up to handle 600hp, same goes for the tranny. I also had a thought of building up a 240 with a friend on mine, but it changed... Go to 2jzswap.com however they are expensive, and some ruckus racing company that makes engine mounts for a lot cheaper.

Sorry, but I hate LSX motors, as well as most V8s. If I wanted a V8, id grow a mullet and drive a camaro. :p
Nah, just not a V8 guy. :dsm::dsm::talon::talon::laser::laser:

blasphemy! LSx FTW and all V8s ftw.

ls2/t56 combo thrown into a 240 is the best.

Guys, no offense... I am not a V8 guy, nor will I ever be. I am a person that if you ever see tuning a V8, go out and buy a lotto ticket LOL. I do not like V8s, and I like a challenge.
I do not mind working with smaller motors to make more power, it is funner, I like the sounds, the spooling, and the revving. My father, and pretty much everyone else in my family likes V8s. Sorry, but not I.

Not trying to be rude but there is a line between liking something different and wasting time and money on something inferior.

How about this.... Build a SPACE SHUTTLE... It may be a little more fabrication, but it would be worth it in the long run! Now THAT WOUL BE COOL! Show us some parts, the car, Hell even a price sheet for the build to show you actually have researched this enough to build it.
