i think so but what im saying as for the gear ratio you could just swap it over without affecting the doubble syncros just make sure what gear ratio is better

pj, you can use the JDM trans in your 1G. It is the same size trans. Now, as for final drive ratio. It is important. You have to make sure the final drive gear is the same and you are set to go.

If you are seriously looking into turning the DSM in a fully custom RWD dragster, talk to Kevin (95GSXracer). He bought a RWD 1G Talon from Josh Mowery (owner/founder of Mowery Racing). I did find this post about the car.

The blue 1G RWD that people are referring to was created by Gary Reese for David Buschur back in the late 1990's. Dave Buschur sold it to Jesus Rivera, who cleaned it up, but then sold it to Bruce Kwartler. It's now owned by Josh Mowery of Mowery Racing. How anyone hasn't seen that car, or Buschur's 2G RWD Talon and considers themselves "in the scene" is a complete mystery to me.

See more of Kevin's car here.

Thanks for the information, but I decided to stay with awd because of the to much hastle. And Im thinking about making it have a snow plow for winter. haha. HIGHPSI4, I know that my gear ratio is different because my u-joint broke from the different ratios. And I read about the different ratios afterward.

JDM trannies come from 90-91 cars. As such, they have crappy, “old style” synchros. They might be better than high miles, worn out 90-91 US tranny, but they are not an upgrade. Actually, they are DOWN GRADE for 93/94 trannies…

VC is the same, unless you have a switchable tranny. Those work the same as US unit when it comes to VC, but they have the extra locking feature.

I used a miller dynasty 200 TIG machine, I think it was 3/32 tungston, red band (2% something).
This project has been sidelined due to not knowing how exactly to make a really good front suspension. Since i am in engineering school i am going to wait until i get to the suspension class until i pick up this project again. currenty i am working on my trail rig, a toyota 4runner. Having a great time working on it.

there is a guy who has a nice website up about putting a 4g63 in a BMW, he modded the cyl head so the coolent exits between the cam gears.

As far as a trans to use, in my mind there is only one option, a mk3 supra r154 I believe.
I person by the same of bill hitchner makes a custom bellhousing for this. I have personally seen it, and the workmanship is second to none. He used his cnc bridgeport to cut the flange that i used for my oil pan. This person knows alot about everything.

i think he frequents the boards project zero g.

this will be going in my 1990 laser FWD. I am going to hack it up, i am sick of all the problems im having with it.
I will be using a toyota r154 out of an MK3 turbo supra.

I have an rx7 solid rear axle with LSD that i will mount up later. This oil pan was the first thing i had to change, now I have to figure out someyhing for the front suspension, not going to tear apart the rear until i have that done. I have already straightened the steering colum.

we will see how it goes...

Are you the person that won that ebay bid for a custom bellhousing to put a supra trans on our motor?

Hi i have a awd lancer and wanted t make it rwd.
Does anyone knows if they sell kits to put in the gearbox to make it rwd?

btw the car has everything that came out of a eclipse 1991, full suspension, gearbox and transfercase

Rotate engine 90 degrees. Adapt the RWD transmission that makes you the happiest. Mate transmission to rear axle. That's all there is to it, have fun!

Does anyone offer an oil-pan with a rear-sump for longitudinally-mounted 4g63's? For a RWD setup that has an engine crossmember and steering rack.

I have a 1998 GST. It was at 350whp. Then I brunt a valve, so I am makin a race motor. I want to ran a GT37R turbo (30+psi) & a 100 shot. So I guess I need help, what will I need to complete a RWD job.
