I think the chevy ones are like t60 or something. I saw one from a corvette/camaro online somewhere. I will try to dig it up. You will want to go with a nice DANA or ford 9 inch rear.

yea but the guy also has a GST not a GSX

and i am not positive but you can use the mighty max tranny that bolts up to the 4G64

tell me how it goes i would love to see how it turns out

yea pritty much if you got to post it in a forum to ask how to do it.......
Its gonna exceed your skills/abilitys/wallet to acomplish this task....

If you want a RWD car just buy a car with RWD, What you are talking about doing aint easy cheap or possible for the avg mechanic, you are talking a custom cassis, Engine mounts, Transmission, Rear end, Bla BLa Bla WTF..... Dude get real Its way easyer to run 10.0 in the quarter WITH what you got than to do a RWD conversion....

6 speed is a t-56
auto is a 4l60e or a 4l80e is heavier duty.

ya...I doubt you will get it done. I am the only one to ever complete a 1G AWD conversion, and I can tell you from experience, that if you have to ask questions, you'll never get it done. Search google there's a guy that makes adapter bellhousings...If you too lazy to search I am too. Don't buy buschers rwd kit. Its junk and overpriced.

I'm confused, are you stating it was a GST with an AWD swap or that the guy managed to eliminate his front axles and weld his VC on his FWD tranny?

Do not suggest Mighty Max trannies please. There have been people that done 4g63 swaps into the Mighty Max trucks and blew the tranny up because it was not designed for high HP. Same goes for Starion/Conquest trannies.

yes i am referring to how he said the guy just eliminated the front axles

the guy who is wanting to do the rwd swap he has a FWD so i mean i was just suggesting that he could swap out the gears out of the mighty max tranny

couldn't have put it better just because you can weld 2 pieces of metal together does not mean you can build a chassis. before you waste your time and money either buy something already done . or get a quote from a chassis shop. just to balk half a car can run up to 6 or 7k real quick.

yea This is what you are going for Right.....

Deff Not saying It cant be done, I just dont Remember Brent Rau Posting
"How do I Run 6.'s in a RWD dsm"

a t56 would be a great choice. 4l80e and 4l60e are fully electronic and heavy as balls so they would not be your choice.

I have a 1998 GST. It was at 350whp. Then I brunt a valve, so I am makin a race motor. I want to ran a GT37R turbo (30+psi) & a 100 shot. So I guess I need help, what will I need to complete a RWD job.

If you need to ask for instructions and a parts list, you don't need to be attempting it.

+1,

are the and tranny adaptor kits that would make a 4g63 bolt up to a T-56?

why dont you guys get a GSX LOL that would be alot more fun then a RWD

I could be mistaken, but I believe most people are using Toyota trannies for this

Don't listen to anyone, I know what iron working is like and the labor on this little car is a walk in the park in comparison to what you get done in one month at work.

You will need to run a thorough search over the internet, and get ready to spend that money... and have a lot of patience

Hey man just do your thing, if you want it rwd, just do it, don't listen to the ones, that says "if you want a rwd buy one" everything is possible.
Tranny of a starion will bolt right on.

My god, even after I stated it people still suggest Starion/Conquests.

He's making god damn 350hp right now. He can easily blow up the tranny in one or two launches. I have read the stories. Don't attempt it.

If you get the nuts to do it, t56 is the way to go, 6 speeds and a near bullet proof transmission.

Easy get A GSX TRANS...bolt it up to you're engine after changing the flywheel or ring gear if you're saving money or dont need a new flywheel. Weld that sucker so its only putting power down to the rear wheels and wallah start working on supporting mods for you're turbo.

What's wrong with AWD? It would be cheaper, easier, and much more practical. And it would definitely get the job done as well as RWD.

I also agree with Dan. If you have to ask about it, that infers that you don't have much experience in this particular field. And if that's the case, I would not recommend diving head-first into a project like this.
