1G awd manual transmission part question

just bought a 92 awd tsi ,second gear is gone and it pops out off reverse .was wondering if the gear,s from a 91 fwd turbo would be the same, #f5m33. or is there someplace I can buy those part,s.

No the ratios are different! but do you have it apart? because it does not sound like the gears but the shifter forks and hub sliders.

haven,t taken it apart yet but ,I try to shift from 1st to 2nd I really have to pull on it and it grinds going in when you get it in ,I bought this from a buddy and he didn,t use the clutch to shift ,he was power shifting it alot. the reverse got torn out by doing reverse donuts. so I would think it is screwed now .

Good luck. I just got done with a 95 w5m33. Second gear locked out. It was a small piece of metal stuck in between the hub and slider
