Hey does anyone know of an AWD dyno in the south bay in the region of like san jose. I know full function is the best shop in the area but was just wondering if there was anything closer (to cupertino/sunnyvale area). Full function is tough for me to get to due to my work schedule and they aren't open on weekends. ANY recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Ian Theyer?!?

Haha what's up, I'm heading back to tino tomorrow till Sunday. Go to Full Function... you won't regret it. Sean's pretty amazing and it'd be good for you to get to know him early. You could roll with me, I'm heading there on Thursday or Friday. The only other place with an AWD dyno is Speed Element and they specialize more on Evos. They're over in Milpitas/Hayward as well...

What do you need a dyno for? I'm guessing you fixed your afc & boost leaks?

Anyhoo see you in a few days probably.

Andrew

andrew, just to clear things up, fftec is not the ONLY place with an awd dyno in the bay. there is also GST and EIP. not that i would go to them, but just to clarify things and provide good info.

as he said, Full Function is THE place to go. NO SHOP in the bay area knows or builds more dsm's than sean. with that said, you can't exactly just roll into fftec expecting to dyno, the schedule is pretty packed and i'm having a hard time getting time to wrench there. not to mention my retune. give sean a call..you won't regret it

p.s. what are you going in to dyno for? baseline, tune?

You're right, GST and EIP completely slipped my mind.

Ian, listen to unlmtdndeavor, he's a smart guy. Give FFTec a call or come in with me just to check the place out.

HAHA ive already been to ff andrew! Sean is awesome i am aware but i was only asking since i work everyday from 1-5 and the only time i could go into FF is at 10am when they open...which doesnt leave them a lot of time to work on my car since i would have to be out of there at 1230ish to get back to work on time. Thanks for the info guys and see you soon andrew.

you could always drop it off right after work, and then have someone drive you to pick it up first thing in the morning before work. should give them ample time to do a boost leak test and afc tuning

If I remember right there was a place I found right off of Almaden Expressway just south of Alma/Minnesota. Can't remember the name and never did use them. Just saw it one day. The next closest one I knew of was ATP in Fremont. They were popular with all my friends.

good find luda...i just looked it up..and it's a dynojet...yay for inflated awd dyno numbers so that we can bench race with the east coast guys...hahah.

EDIT: i just called...they no longer have their dyno open to the public..booooo

Who did you call? ATP or the place in San Jose?

seriously, have you SEEN his racing seat (singular) and 5 point harness?

I can't wait to dyno my car though,...

after I get my engine,...

and my turbo,...

and a better engine management system,...

which will probably come after a roll cage and some other safety things,...

which will only be like 10 years from now or so

i'm such the ricer! i'm probably the most into cosmetics of all the local guys. who else but me would buy a pair of takatas..someone would probably say..hey..thats like a 16g/20g. oh well...it hugs me..and soon i plan to either have work wheels or volks.

rice out,

edwin

I'd check out GST if you are busy during the week. I know they have the dyno running on the weekend and Bryan Medway (one of the dyno tuners) is an old DSM guy (1g/2g). The shop specializes in subarus and does some Evos.

I need to check out Full Function sometime, but I know the owner of GST so it makes it so easy to drop in there.

wait, more info on these places, like is the one at infineon AT infineon or near it, and is it awd. also whats the full name of some of these other places like gst, and their adress. ill put together a dyno map if i caan get all the info, but im pretty sure a google search for gst would be rather useless. plus seeing as im using my phone right now, searching would take extra long... even with 3g
