autometer speedometer?

im going with a full custom gauge cluster in place of my other one with tach, speedo fuel pressure wideband and boost in the main cluster and have all my other ones elsewhere, but my question is can i just buy an aftermarket speedo (mechanical) and just connect it?

like that one there, i was thinking they came with different connectors or something for the stock 1g dsm speedo cable? how does that work? any experience?

nvm i suppose i found something that may help me, out by using a 2g speed sensor and an electric speedo instead of mechanical but electric is about 80 bucks more.
