Hey DSM Tuners!

After 457 miles on my rebuilt 6-Bolt, My trans has started to slip.
Turns out I was a bit low on fluid.

Now answer me this,
Do I spend the money to do a trans fluid/filter change or do I just try and track down a new transmission? The Slip occurs through just about every gear.

Also, My car bogs down HORRIBLY when trying to accelerate. Like most cars with an Auto Trans will accelerate pretty quickly. This just bogs down and I need to punch it for it to move anywhere.
My friend who did the majority of my rebuild thinks that the Torque Converter is partially "locked up".

before you track down a new trans be sure of a few things, one being that you have a full fluid level. I think my 92 auto held almost 8 quarts when i changed the torgue converter. I used B&M trick shift fluid and it worked great. If you are sure that the fluid level is full then you will need to decide if just changing the torque converter will solve the problem or if you think the actual transmission is going. Was it doing all this before the trans was taken out? if not, then i would say the torque converter may have dried up and locked up as your friend said.

If you decide to go with a different trans i have an awd auto trans with new torque converter out of my 92 awd eclipse that i can hook you up with. That is if you wanna drive to central illinois (61554).

Good luck with you fix

I bought the car with a bad head gasket and didnt have a chance to drive it till the rebuild was done on my engine.

As for the trans, we never took it out during the rebuild process.
And he said the Torque Converter was pretty hard to move by hand when we put the flex plate bolts in.

Also, please drop me a PM with what you want for the trans and torque converter.
