ok, heres the story....i just tried changing the p/s axle on my gst...i still need to take whats left of my axle out of the hub(rust welded like a b!!ch...) anyhow! i wanted to try and drive the car home from my shop so i put everything back together minus the new axle on the p/s.

NOW! i tried to drive with only the d/s hooked up and see if that would work(IT DOESNT) i put the car into gear and it wont go anywhere! it just revs up(and the spedometer goes up but not movement by the car.

THE QUESTION IS: What did i screw up in the car/tranny? Can you drive with just one axle hooked up?...Why does this have to happen in the middle of December here in the midwest! Please help a fellow DSM owner out.

You do need both in to drive the car. What is happening, is the P/S of the tranny is spinning freely as there is no load on it. Would be the same as one wheel stuck in the mud, the side that is stuck will spin and the other would not turn as it thinks the car is actually moving. Hence your speedometer moving.
