I bought a 1996 mitsubishi eclipse gsx about 2weeks ago there was no problems with anything, so one day I let my friend drive it and he crashed it into a curb, the drive shaft was ripped out of the transmission and just of number of things that where bent and broke but nothing happened to the engine its self
so after everything was fixed I took it for ride I put the car in reverse and it jerked really hard when it went into gear then I put it in drive and it did the same thing then I started to drive down the street and noticed it would not shift gears in Drive but it would shift down to L and it would up into 2 so I went online and seen some people said that the TCU was causing the problems and I got it tested and nothing was wrong with the TCU so im kinda lost now but after I think about it when we got into the crash the battery bounched up and hit the underside of the hood and I might of been thinking this may have caused a wire for the transmission to short out so if you could help me I would be thankfull and I did check all the fuses that had something todo with the tranny and they where all fine
