So I'm planning on building/running a 2.1 destorker engine with my awd auto setup. Is there anything needed (besides end clutches/shiftkit) to make this auto shift at very high rpms?

You should contact IPT and talk to one of the techs over there. They are VERY knowledgeable of the auto transmissions. I am sure you will need more than upgraded clutch packs and a shift kit. The pressure in the transmission will probably be way higher at 10k than at 7k so you need to make sure your transmission can handle it. You will also need to get your TCU reprogrammed to allow the transmission to shift at the higher RPM's or you can get a RoadSurge shift box to shift at whatever RPM you need. To get your ECU reprogrammed, talk to HighPSI_guy on here.

Good luck on the build!!! Post picks if you get the chance!

I planned for the eprom tcu reprogram. But does the trans have a mechanical governor in it?

I do not believe the transmission has a mechanical governor. I second the idea of calling IPT. Good luck with this build, it's nice to see someone with the stones needed to try something different.

I'll have to call them sometime, or maybe he'll chime in.

I personally rev my 2.0 liter to 9000 with a 1g auto trans and i have zero problems.....except the teeth stripping off the gears of the transfercase i've been without problem :rocks:

Really? NO rebuild or anything?
