well its stuck in the trans case........and i can't get the transfercase out, it pretty much slides in and out of the tranns with the transfercase

any other idea's on what to do? i realy don't want to drop the tranns. but i will if i have to.
 
i tryed....the shaft is sliding back and forth in the tranns....i have never seen this happend before.
i thought the output shaft is not supposed to move at all. :hmm:

well got it out....friend with channel locks and a rag holding the shaft. some white grease and a big screwdriver.

The output shaft can come right out of the transmission actually. Sounds like you have damaged splines on your output shaft and or the transfer case input, possibly from a locked transfer case or repeated hard launches over the course of years.
