1G AT with AEM EMS Series 1

Has anyone on here used AEM EMS to shift their car, if so I would love to know what you need to do to set it up. Also has anybody been able to set up a way to use a manual shifter but also be able to switch to being controlled by the ECU/TCU(Will the road surge box allow this, I don't want buttons or paddle shifts, I am looking to run a ratchet style shifter).

You can run a ratchet shifter without electronic aids. Search for the Kiggly manumatic shifter mod(it's on his website as well) and do that, in conjunction with a ratchet shifter will give you full line pressure, instant shifts. It's also absolutely the most fun setup for a DSM I have ever driven, including 5-speed DSMs. However you will need to fab up a bracket for the ratchet shifter, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Sorry if my post was confusing. I want to be able to switch between ECU/TCU controlling the car and also be able to have a ratchet shifter for when I'm street driving(I know that sounds backwards but the best shift for drag racing would be one that is already programmed). As far as I am aware the kiggly mod is always manual shift and cannot be used with ECU/TCU control. I'm looking for the same concept as many of the shift boxes where you can change from programmed shift points and manual control, but I want to use an actual shifter not buttons.

Couldn't you just install a ratchet shifter with the stock TCU? That what it sounds like you want.

I'm looking to make custom shift points via AEM EMS(I know people have done it I just don't know how they have done it), and I would also like to have manumatic shifting abilities.

I know its not using aem, but forcedfour makes a shift box that allows manual shifts and the ability to switch back to the tcu.
