So I am putting my head all together and on this weeken. I got arp camshaft cap studs and their is nothing about torque of the bolts. I know with my arp head studs they are different then stock but have no idea on the cam studs. I checked ARP and they have no information on them. I was going to just got to 104 in lbs losses and tighten again. Any imput on this would be nice thank you.

You would need to call or just use stock torque specs. I've never heard of anyone changing the bolts.

I'm using dual valve springs and crane 12 cams so I figure with the added pressure of the dual springs and the crane cams the stock may not hold up. All in all I just wanted to be on the safe side of things.

I'm pretty sure your head is aluminum as well anyway, so you cannot torque the bolts down much until you strip the threads out. The other issue you can encounter even if they are studs, is the bore of the caps was done at a specific torque rating and having a higher pressure on the caps can cause them to now be out of round. Will it be a problem, maybe, maybe not.

The 104 in lbs is what the Haynes book sayes to torque to. I'm not looking to go crazy as I have seen when just going till it felled tight does did it to an old motor of mine and spun a bearing on a new crank. Thus the reason why I'm asking, I will be calling arp to get the recommendations for the studs.

Ive never seen these studs for sale anywhere... but every motor that made over 1000AWHP that I have seen in person has used the stock bolts and been fine. IMHO if its good enough for them its good enough for me.

WTF

What? The main/rod bearings are a whole different beast. It's critical that the bolts on those components are torqued properly. As for the cam caps... not so much.

It was the connecting rod caps that I did not torque nor did I put the proper caps on the right rods (chrysler 2.7 1999-2005) . I did not think I was important, I was young and dumb with no one to tell me I was wrong now that I have a little more know how and have read a few books also ask questions I try to never do the same thing again.
