So I was reinstalling a camshaft bearing cap and had the torque set at 20ft/lbs because I got my numbers mixed up. :( I ended up snaping the bolt and the lower half is stuck for the moment. I want to test the work I did on the engine. Do you think something will get damaged if I run it with only one bolt holding the bearing cap down?

YES DO NOT START WILL FAIL FOR SURE.

So you screwed up the torque seq. or the location of the caps ex. The 2-5 caps on each side.

was it intake or exhaste NEED MORE INFO...

extract the broken bolt and replace it. Period. Do NOT run the engine without it.

It was the first bolt of the exhaust cam sequence. I'm extracting it today. Would the journal break off if I started it?

Maybe not, but you'd likely screw up the mating surface where the cam rides. Those caps are numbered for a reason. Screw one up and you would have to pull the head to have those caps line bored and I'm sure you don't want to do that.
