Are you on projectzerog?
Yep, doing tons of reading.
Found this at projectzerog this morning and looks very promising. It's the thermostat housing from a hyundai sonata
I really wish I had a tig welder that would work on aluminum for this project. It would make things so much easier.
) but if you go 20,000 miles running hot and never changed the oil......
) for a living sucks. I get home look at the shit I need to fix and then say ####it
Lol I try to tell people all the time who think super tech Walmart oil is the same as the rest.
I've pulled valve covers off to find you would have to use a wire brush to even take the cam bolts out.
Walmart oil just like any other oil will work in your rust buggy DD, (not saying I use that shit) but if you go 20,000 miles running hot and never changed the oil......
Sickens me that people really do this.
And yes I'm a tool and buy OEM replacement parts for my Oldsmobile. Delco and denso, motor raft for ford and mopar/champions for dodge and don't get me started on airtex fuel pumps. At least cough up the money for a. Carter. Lest your gauge be off and you'll have to replace it again..
Just needed to kinda ven this morning. Can't wait until I get on an ambulance. Which btw I passed my basic level class and the national registry test with a 3.0. Can't wait to get my paramedics, it's not the same as combat medic, but it's real close.
Being a mechanic (parts changer not a "real mechanic") for a living sucks. I get home look at the shit I need to fix and then say ####it
My in laws were paramedics and now RNs and they loved it. Saw some sad stuff but if you were active duty you are probably mentally prepared.
I would love to work at a performance shop if I wasn't teaching but not a regular DD shop....
An auto fabrication shop would be cool.
I wouldnt mind teaching myself, middle or high school sciences would be my choice.
If you have any plans on removing the head for ANY reason in the future I recommend going with new ARP studs. Also if you have a budget in mind the evergreen gasket set in eBay is a good choice, the head gasket is composite and has goo reviews up to 27-27 psi with ARPs.
As for the head work, you going to disassemble and clean the head and lifters? Jafromobiles videos are amazing in the detailed steps to give you an idea.
I hope to record my work as well this month to post up but it may be awhile before editing is done.
anyone got the link on how to set my throttle screw? not the biss but the one that is on the throttle cable... And there is supposed to be a gasket between the throttle body and the intake manifold right? took mine off for the first time and there isn't one there..
