I always drop the cross brace, it's only 4 bolts and gives alot more wiggle room. Like stated watch the im in the fire wall, throttle body always seems to want to hang up on the throttle cable box.

Started planning for the swap. Putting a build list and parts together.

Just the essential wiring for the harness is 73 wires and pins. I plan to work with a 2g harness, pull it apart and rework it to fit the new bay.

Ewww messing with a harness rewire is worse that the swap . What's nice is that you can probably get a good chunk of your money back when you decide to sell to another DSMer by doing this swap.

I figure you can probably do it for 1500-1750 including motor if you fab most parts, 2500$ if you go the quick route and get prefabbed things.

Why don't you pick up one of these DSMs with broken trannys that are local.

I will do all my fab work. The only part I know I probably won't fab is the driveshaft.

Bobby can do some pretty nifty rewire work. You should gave seen his fuse box relocation

I'm not worried about the harness to be honest. It will just be time consuming to do it right and make it look good.

I'll build the harness with the engine on the stand. Starting at the sensor and going back to the ecu. The other harness for everything else ill start from the component and work back to a custom fuse and relay box.

um how do you think dsm stays alive... my first one was a 97 spyder gst my dad bought me. loved it in college but sold due to crank walk. Now I have another cause I loved it so much. I also have the means a knowledge to take care of it now. I have a front mount you sure it wasn't me?

Really found the problem to my crankwalk...

Someone didn't put a thrust bearing in... and the one that was in there was just about shot.

horrible with streets I mean I go down main all the time when I come from ward to cabot going to walmart. if it was red and black it was most likely me I haven't seen another red and black talon with no spoiler in the area yet.
