Yes, I would recommend you have a engine leveler on the hoist. It makes the job much easier.

I wouldn't put your alternator or ps pump on. They are not that hard to put on and it's easier to get it in and out.
I actually recommend putting the Engine/Trans in together in a 2G. With a 1G it's simple as cake to do them apart. In a 2G, not so much. Just watch that firewall if you're putting it in with the intake manifold on.
