Meh you can't drift a dsm 240's are fun but I miss my talon and I wanna get one again

You could drift a 2g. The downside to it would be you would spend a ton more converting a 2g to rwd than to just buy a 240. The only solution to this quadry would be that bobby just put a 4g63 in his 240. LOL . Ive been checking out vids of 240 on tube and they seem fiesty with a v8 swap. :thumb:

From the looks of it, Its fairly straight forward. There looks to be very little fab work involved. Do a alternator relocate to the A/C side and the water pump and water line looks to be the biggest issues. The thermostat housing ends up at the firewall.

I regret selling the DSM parts now.

I think the hardest part will be finding the transmission and not paying a fortune for it.

I am defiantly going to research it some more

This has been done many times actually . Just use the tranny from the mighty max, it bolts right up and if you keep it around 300 HP then you should have no problems.

For the thermostat you can get a relocation kit that has it output right underneath the cam gears.

Look in the build threads there is a guy putting one in a old celica that will be the same process.
 
I want to do something different and tuning options for the DSM is cheaper.

Also 4g63 parts are fairly easy to find.

Agreed, the SR is too common for my tastes. I had plans for the 4G63 in my 280z that I just sold. I just feel more comfortable with the 4G63 so that you can focus on the fabrication on not on the small things that go along with a new engine diagnosis.

I agree, I already know my way through the 4g63 and its wire harness. With the KA I don't feel as comfortable about putting a turbo on.
 
Don't forget the stock intake manifold would have the tb pointed at the firewall.

I believe you can actually just flip the intake and redrill the holes. Or you can pick up one of the SMIM that are specifically built for it. As a last resort, a 90 bend straight down would get the intake tract to a better direction for custom piping.

You guys gotta think outside the box. On a side note they have been doing this for years with the stations if you want to google some info.
 
A WC t5 is another option that you could find the trans for cheaper(v8 fox body) it's not on bills site but he does make one. I want to do a 4g and a t5 in my conquest. Just 400-450 hp and drive it
