I hope this isn't a repost, because I feel special that I figured this out. :p

No more RActive neon glow pedal covers that clip on from behind. The fix is as close as your local Toyota dealer. With lots of force and possibly a tiny bit of triming, 2000+ Celica GT-S stock pedal covers fit beautifully. They are the best stock pedals of any car I've driven. They're brushed aluminum with raised rubber buttons so your feet never slip, and the best part... They only cost about $4 each.:thumb:

Just thought I would share if anyone was interested. I know I got tired of driving around with a bare metal clutch pedal and the Pepboys clip ons are crap.

Nice, how bout doing a write-up on it with your review of it, I know its easy stuff, but for those noobs out there. My clutch petal was worn to the metal as well, one day I killed my 2nd gear synchro cause it was raining and wet shoes plus metal clutch equals foot slipping off just as I was shifting:cry: Good thing the 2nd gear synchro was on its way out anyway:thumb: Down the road after I get my engine and tranny put back in the car, Im thinking of doing the Sparco CF pedals with the black grippy sandpaper looking stripes, our Jeep has them and they are great no spillage on the pedals with wet feet.

I wish I could, but I got them on there already and there's no way they're coming off. You just a tiny bit of triming to make the top of the pedal narrower, no more than a couple millimeters. Other than that is just struggling to get them on. I've installed then on the cars they were intended to go on and its just as much of a struggle. Its a slip fit metal pedal with some very hard rubber backing, its going to be difficult to get on. Its well worth it when they're on, no more foot slipping and they look awsome.

The sound nice, when I get my car up and running after I grad. from UTI Ill have to check them out...that is if you go to ccdsm meets.

I don't want to start a war if someone from ccdsm sees this, but screw those @ssholes. No one likes me because I'm the new person. CCDSM isn't a club, its a grown up highschool click.

I was going to go to UTI, PM me and let me know how you like it. I don't want to take this further off topic.

Ive been driving for almost a year with no clutch pedal cover. My foots only slipped 2 times but those pedal covers look awsome. At 4$ each I think Ill do it. Does the gas pedal one fit, Id like to have a matching set instead of two?

No the gas pedal is the entire assembly. I'm sure you could cut it off and weld it on if you really wanted to, but for all the hastle and the like $100+ it cost I don't think it would be worth it just to match.

I have a Toyota dealership right next to where I work and my aftermarket aluminum pedal covers are starting to show their age. I was thinking of just replacing them with another identical set, but after seeing this... I may just do it. If I do, I'll try to get pics and maybe a little write-up, if that's okay with you, MyBeatGSX.

I thank you much, sir, for discovering this and sharing it. :thumb: :thumb:

I use to have a 2000 celica gts, so i know personally how good those pedals are, looks and feel. The thing I miss about that car is the interior. Very nice and sporty. I might just do this. I don't like those pedal covers that are all ghetto rigged on.

So we have to remove the existing pedal? or it goes over the existing ones?

You have to remove the stock pads. You also have to trim the pedals because the Celica pads are a tiny be narrower. I stress the words TINY BIT because of what happened to me. It was hot out and I got impatient with trying to fit the pads over (its extremely hard even on a Celica) so I went nuts with the cut off wheel and cut way too much off the pedals. They slipped on nice and easy... and came off even easier. I then had to apoxy (sp?) them on and haven't had any problems since. They are SUPPOSED to be extremely difficult to get on, because when you get them on, they never come off unless you cut them off.:thumb:

perfect!!!!!! When I had my celica I got spoiled with the interior. I always liked the pedals, but always thought those pedal attachments weren't secure and just looked cheap and cheesy, no matter how expensive. As replacements, this is what I've been looking for. Thanks for making sure. Definitely should go in the write ups.
