hello everyone, im new to the site and dsm's

ive been wondering what mods are done to my dsm.
i have a 91 talon tsi awd

so far i know the car has a turbo timer, eprom ecu w/ some kind of chip and 1000cc injectors and a few other things i dont fully understand..

when im at a dead stop and i hit the pedal to the floor it revs at 4000 rpm but when te cars in motion it will go beyone 4000 rpm when i rev. launch control? its odd because on hot days i can pin it at a stop and itll stay at 4000 rpm and then release itself and go past 4000 rpm.

a loud noise coming from the fuel tank, whining and annoying... 255 fuelpump?

when i make u turns or sharp turns the back tire skips around or locks up so to say. welded rear diff?

if i boost above 13 pounds it loses power and car bogs out and loses boost. boost leak / fuel cut? kinda odd if i have a fp dontcha think? intercooler is stock as well.

any ideas? LOL

Actually I did mean to say center. I must have just seen the rear diff statement by the OP and got the word in my head. Sorry for misposting, I'm just trying to help. To prove that I did mean to say center diff, the car I'm looking at has a welded center, and the exact situation described with rear tires skipping is one thing that I'm not looking forward to.

fyi, you're going to want to look into a front mount intercooler and possibly a new bov if you have an upgraded turbo. That stock sidemount is absolutely horrific at cooling and airflow, so i wouldn't get on it too much or you might get heatsoaked, pop off an ic pipe, or something else bad. But congrats on the new car.

thankyou,

I have upgraded the bov to a greddy type S. Still having an issue holding boost though.

I have a greddy type s as well, and from what i've researched/heard from a friend that used to work at speed factory in Tacoma,WA., it is a great BOV and sounds amazing when set correctly, but they do leak a tiny bit after being used for so long...something to do with a poorly designed seal on them or something. AGAIN, from what i have been told from a certified mechanic/researched, this is what i have found out.

To add onto what has been previously said, if you are having bogging issues and arent really sure how the car was built/mods it has, don't go racing it around until you have it checked/tuned by a shop.

M100075005TNLTS

1000cc injectors, 7500 RPM rev limit, 5k NLTS (Assuming, but that's generally how to interpret these)

I dont think its 5k ive went beyond that when shifting. Im thinking i should do a compression test on the cylinders. maybe im experiencing blowby. thankyou for your help though. that explains everything

What Lando meant is 5,000 RPM NLTS, meaning if you are WOT (going through the gears) and hold the clutch in, the RPM's will drop back to 5,000 in between shifts so the turbo stays spooled up. Other than that your standard rev limiter should be 7,500 rpm as mentioned before. Also, a compression test won't tell you much about blowby, you'll need to do a leakdown test to see if you have a blowby problem.

okay thanks for the correction. should i run a safc with my set up?

If you don't have a way to log/monitor the car, pause on modding.

Yes of course, i was told to just pick up a wideband and not worry about a safc by a guy ive met at a local meet. He basically said its all in the chip, dont waste money on a safc or aem wideband and just pick up a zetronix wideband.

of course im new to this, but have oned forced induction mustangs. So i know my safepoints. Id rather look like a fool and ask stupid questions then act like a fool and do stupid things. haha
