Are Arp main studs neccesary for a 400-500 whp build?

I'm buying the final things to finish my build and we're aiming for the 400-500 whp range but i want to know if the arp main studs are required for that kind of power.

If you have the money it would be the smart thing to do but if you are really tight on cash, you may be able to get by. But I would put them in while the motor is out.

I'm running OEM studs without any issues yet. Average power output of 600awhp+ with many track and dyno pulls.

Thanks guys for some fast help.I think i'm going to buy them just for if i want to go bigger in the future.

You need to align hone the mains if you want to run arp mains.

You need to have your mains CHECKED for roundness if you install ARP mains. Take the main caps, studs, and block to the machine shop and have them check the mains for roundness. After these measurements you will know if your mains are still in spec. If they are out an align hone must be performed, If they are still in spec you are good to go. FWIW I built a six bolt and a seven bolt in the last year and neither where out off spec when switching to arp's from stock studs.
