I got a new engine from a company, same 4G63 everything for the most part seems to be the same...couple things here and there "JDM" motor:rolleyes: My question is the new motor doesnt have the cam position sensor on the end of the cam. Can I take the cams out the old motor and put in the new motor? Or should I just swap heads?

Thanks

Its probally a 7-bolt. But in 95-96 they had the cas inside the head. Im not sure about jdm engines wht year they did that. If you pull the valve cover off you should beable to see the cas. Just pull both valve covers off and you should see the difference and you can just swap them out.

95-96 = CAS under the cam by the cam gear

97-99 = CAS on the end of the cam

Look at the exhaust manifold studs and if the two outer most ones are larger then all the others then its a 7 bolt head.

Yea there are larger than all the rest. Its funny I ran into the same problem when I got a new head for my old motor and we drilled and tap the end of the cam, might have to do it again.
