[RESOLVED] Are all 1g 4g63 heads the same?

I'm putting in new pistons and my cylinder head's already messed up so im going to go pull one from the junkyard. But they only one they have is non-turbo 1g 4g63. Does this head bolt right up? Same valve springs, ect?

Also, my intake manifold is full of nasty crud; what's a good way to clean it (other than having it hot tanked?)

Yea ... Im thinking of going for it.. cause if I cant finish it I can always get the guy to come in and finish it for me..or if I get stuck.. u know... yea I took that honey comb out and the stock air box just have a open K&N filter... and the MBC .. i just got a FMIC im bout to sell my stock ...I found a 2G head ported on Ebay so im winning right now.. so if i get that i'll put it on... and take care of the head put it back together and see how everything works out.. now when I take the Head off im sure the head gasket is shot cause im pretty sure its a stock one and it has over 100K on it so i knwo i need new one but what about the top of the pistons is there anything i can use to clean the tops up a little bit take some of that black shit off... or should i not touch it ????

If you do anything you better be careful. A lot of that debree can fall right through. I used a gasket scraper, vacuumed everything out then I took a wire brush on a rotary tool and kind of polished them up. If you do this, I'd have your tool in one hand and a vacuum in the other, sucking up debree as you go along. I'd also recomend changing your oil pretty quick as well.

I've done similar; this is good advice. I sprayed carb cleaner on the piston tops and it actually caused some of the carbon deposits to flake off after it had time to sit there. I made sure to vacuum as i went, and then i turned the engine over by hand a couple of times while i cleaned the bores with a lightly oiled clean cloth and then i lubed the walls with some engine oil.
