are the RS60T and RS49t direct bolt ons, assuming you pay the extra money for a internal gate. I mean will they hook up with my stock exhaust mani and o2 sensor housing?
yes, they are both a bolt on affair.

I looked at both turbos from both vendors. Both were Extreemly helpfull in everything I asked. Im 10 miles away from AGP Turbo and decided to go with a SBR G50 because, not only were they extreemly helpful, they said there turbos were also backed by the T-Netics 1 year no hassle warranty and they had 4 in stock which mine is on its way. Cregger and Nate( i think was his name) gave me all the information i needed and asked of each turbo they had, and which would work best for my goals. I cant wait untill my 50 arrives, as i have plans for the install the same day. Ill repost here friday with pics and hopefully that saturday of videos of me running that bad boy 20+ PSI!

spoolingspyder- keep in mind what Mike Huml said... since the comp housing and tubine housing was cast by them, they would warrantee that.

the CHRA is turbonetics.. so we'd have to go through them if there was an issue

Which contradicts the answer that was given to my original question.

The question is who do we go to for this 1yr no hassle warranty, you or Turbonetics?

I can only speak for SBR, however we would handle the warranty.

This is what I understand:

Slowboy 50 trim Warranty:
CHRA - Turbonetics
Compressor/Exhaust Housing - Slowboy
Internal Wastegate Actuator - ??

AGP 50 trim warranty:
Complete turbo - turbonetics

Anyone agree or disagree?

I think Mike meant that you will have to come to us, who will inturn have the part covered by Turbonetics. Turbonetics would rather deal with the vendor on warranty work rather than the end-user :thumb:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't AGP use a bullseye turbine housing?

Thanks for the clarification Nate. :thumb:

I recently bought a SBR G50 turbo, and the turbo is great, althouth I have been less then pleased on only one aspect.

I purchased the turbo w/ a internal wastegate mod. I had a terrible time keeping it holding boost w/out creeping. Upon searching about my WG actuator, I found out that SBR sent me a low press (8-11) psi actuator and the spring is actually quite weak. I may have been able to send it back to SBR to get the right actuator, a higher press. actuator, but instead I took it into my own hands. I went and bought a higher pressure actuator (20-30) psi and installed that. I have less of creep issues now.

I just kinda thought, that SBR knows the 50 trim is designed to work most efficently at 20+ psi, so why install a low press actuator?

Other than that, the turbo's been great. I broke some bolts off in the turbine housing, and found that its a kind of a cheap, cast iron peice, and also, instead of requesting warranty work, I just bought a kick ass Bullseye cast steele turbine housing that I love.

So I do love the turbo, its great, but I guess that w/ all the extra money I dumped into it I could have just bought the turbo from bullseye or maybe just go a external WG setup. But ohwell, live and learn. I still like SBR and will continue to order from them.

What you described was wastegate creep not boost creep.

Its when it bleeds off boost prematurely instead of building it prematurely..

Depending on exhaust backpressure boost controller with an aniti wastegate creep function would eliminate it. On some turbos running high boost the gate can actually get blown open via the exhaust manifold pressure..

Im not going to add backpressure to my exhaust to help my creep issues. Thats a half ass fix to a problem and it basically just covers the problem up.

Was boost falling off or creeping? Creep is usually caused by a restrictive wastgate passage or to high of a pressure w/g actuator.

FYI, the turbine housing is made with the exact same material as the factory piece, actually with a slightly higher nickel content.

You totally misread that.

Some turbine housing and wheel combinations can blow open a wastegate with a light duty spring...

Some turbos running a decent amount of boost with a light duty actuator will start to open the actuator a bit early.. You can either change the actuator or run a MBC or EBC that prevents any pressure at all from entering the actuator untill the boost level is met.

I'm sure you guys will be interested in this update :

I've had the turbo for about 5months/5k miles now, seeing about 20 psi every now and then on a decent tune (a little rich). I ran into 3 problems, but Matt at SBR is taking the turbo back and warranteeing (sp?) it through SBR + T-netics. The only problem is it is a 2-3 week turn around time. thank goodness for beaters ! :sneaky: :thumb:

Problems:
-SMALL nicks in 3 of the 6 comp. fins (closest to the comp housing)
-1 of the 6 comp fins is DISCOLORED, it turned a light brown/creme color. cause? unknown. The turbo should have never seen an extreme change in temperature or ANY circumstance, because it was always ran at 20 psi with less than a 10.8:1 AFR.
-Shaft play - less than 1mm, more than .5mm shaft play. It is not touching the comp housing yet, but I can tell it will soon (probably in another 5k). no in and out, only side to side.

Other than that the turbo spools to 20 psi by 3800 RPMs, makes GREAT power over my e316G, and is very streetable. I'm very happy with it.

All in all, SlowBoy Racing just made an on-the-border customer, into a VERY loyal customer.

I will report back to this thread once everything pans out

Well, that's nice of them. I guess that answers the warranty questions.

I'm still waiting for the replacement bolts that snapped in the comp housing that they should have included in my last order. :|

Basically every now and then any aftermarket turbocharger will have it's problems. If you want to have an almost 100% proven perfect turbo buy MHI. It doesn't matter if it's SBR/AGP/PTE a few will have some problems but SBR has awesome customer support and great prices for the quality products they sell. I plan on ordering the exhaust mani w/ 38 mm, G50, FMIC in a month or two from SBR. Props to you guys over there.
