I've been reading all the threads on which intercooler is the best to have, but i have never seen anyone with the Apexi GT intercooler. I'm interested in it. is it worth buying? and does it come with short route piping and everything needed for a complete installation? thanks.

No it has the longer pipe routing like the greddy unit. Yes it does come with everything needed for a complete install. But for the price of it I would say there are alot better choices in that price range. For example the SBR one.

You definitley dont need a FMIC if your still on the t25. Greddy and Apexi intercoolers are just to darn expensive, the sbr is a great deal and definitley a good performer but that is one huge Intercooler I would only run it with 20g or bigger turbos. You would just be hurting yourself if you had that on your t25.

Thanks for the info, i'll keep those factors in mind. I just dont want to have to upgrade later on. By the way is it to early to shop for a bigger turbo, I got about 1k right now. I've read the tech guide but im looking for good brands and people who have had good experience with the products.
all i have is:

Apexi exhaust w/ gt spec down pipe
intake and filter ( HKS)
greddy type RS BOV w/ upper intercooler "L" pipe

my friend has an apexi kit, its friggin huge you should see what he had to do to his bumper ROFL

I just made some short route piping this weekend for my apex intercooler. I could get you some pics if you want.

Apexi makes 2 different FMICs. The "kit" uses the GT core and the nice small, long piping. For the money it is a complete POS! Now the Skyline GTR core is very nice. It also is very expensive. I know of only one place that sells it as both kit or core alone. Dougs dynopower sells the kit with thier own piping for like $1500 or something. The core alone is, I believe, like $850-$900. Then you could make your own piping. On a side note the end tanks on the GTR core are very large and curve inward. It fits EXTREMELY nicely behind the fascia on a 2G :shhh:

I just ordered the Apexi GT FMIC, just 30 minutes ago. I hear a lot of people say it's expensive. I don't know, but I just got a smokin deal on it, that I couldn't pass up. But I think it's a good intercooler from what I have read about it. I read that a lot of people like the AGP FMIC. But since I couldn't get a deal on that I went with the Apexi.

I just stoped by a DSM shop they are opening here in wichita soon, and there running apexi intercoolers on all of their cars. Looks like alot of cutting to the front bumper but well worth it. But I'll keep all the ideas in mind. Thanks everyone for the help. I apprietiate it!

Uh, the Apexi FMIC piping is 2.5" in diameter. That's not really that small to me.

I had to noticeably clinch it to get the upper IC pipe to fit to my RRE upper intercooler pipe, which is 2 1/4".

I hacked absolutely nothing of my bumper cover, but then again, I don't run a "bumper support" anymore, and just run the cover which is in admittedly rough shape.

I got my Apexi setup used for quite cheap. I think it's better than the Greddy setups out of the two, at least thanks to its piping...

I think the Apexi FMIC kit is too small for the DSM's front fascia. It does not fill the area intended for the FMIC on the DSM. For the $$, there are better and nicer intercoolers available out there.

Can anyone post a pic of the Greddy and the Apexi Gt core( i think thats the one we are talking about) My friend just got a used core for about 300 bucks and i think its about 2 1/2 years old and well. . . it is really nice and daddy like soo could someone put up a pic please.
