mods: mbc@14-15psi, prothanes, buschur 3"catback, k&n. why all this knocking, even when i'm running rich?

thanks
mahesh

You can't really say you are running rich. 02s are different for every car. You are however, knocking. First thing to do would be to turn down the boost or get some better gas and see what happens with the knock and timing.

thanks guys. any brand of gas that people have had luck with (remember i can only get 91 here in CA...)? i'll turn the boost down shortly.

Yeah, your definately pulling some timing up top. Turn down the boost and possibly check for some leaks. I wouldn't be running 15psi personally without atleast an upgraded fuel pump.

Here's an update. After Walbro 190 and first round of MCCC, this is what I have. How's she lookin? This is at ~14 psi on pump 91.

Is everything OK... turn up the boost now? How do I interpret timing... what am I shooting for as far as timing for a 1G? Thanks guys.

I bet you the car feels much better, huh? :thumb:

Don't worry so much about timing as knock. Keep the car from knocking more than a couple counts.

With that much timing, it looks like you are in the clear to turn the boost up a little more :)

I usually aim for 19-21 degrees, but each car is different.

It definitely feels good, but I can't really feel the difference from before. Or maybe I can and I'm just not noticing it...
