Anyone using 1g rods on a 2g?

I was told if they are machined to accept 2g pistons they fit the 7.bolt DSM, is this true??
Is there any troubles with the set-up?

You would have to add material to the big end of the rod since 2G crank pins are 42mm and 1G crank pins are 44.9mm

Most people machine 1G rods to fit 2G pistons for use in 1G engines to get the higher compression ratio of the 2G pistons.
