I was starting down that path. Bought one with the cage already done, was getting ready to do the rest of it... and they changed the cage rules on me. Decided to just do track days with it instead rather than rework the whole cage.

the most rallying ive done was pull forward up a grass hill out of a parking lot to ditch this one kid who was following me in his honduh, needless to say, i lost him, .

I've thought about it though, I think you could make a very nice rally car out of a DSM for like 10 grand, which is gonna be a lot cheaper than some subies

Yea i was thinking about doing a rally/street thing with coilovers where it was prepped for both, all i have to do is change coilover height and switch wheels, caus i go up to the mountains like every other week with my parents in there truck but i would really like to be able to drive up there myself caus its just beautiful up there during winter where we go, snow and ice totally cover the road, but not deep, just enuf to make everything white and sparkly, and trees totally cover the top and they turn all white so its like an ice cave, and its way far from civilization so it doesnt get very disturbed, now tell me that wouldn't be a great place to take your special someone on a date

I just leave the coilovers cranked all the way to the top so I'm good to go on any TSD rally I can find (no cage rules, within speed limits, but on really rough roads). I suffer a little at Solo2 and track events, but not as much as you'd think.

You could probably find a spring/shock setup that worked acceptibly well for bolth, but for any real performance you would need street springs and shock setting, and dirt springs, and shoch setting. I would also recomend a heavy duty skid plate, so those sweet little mountain bunnies don't chew holes in your oil pan and break lines.
