hey does anyone know where the flasher location is for the blinkers/hazards? whats the easiest way to get at it? i know its somewhere in the center console.. i cant find it for the life of me

you know.. the things that make your blinkers blink.. and your hazards... hazard :thumb:
im pretty sure they're called flashers :sneaky:

I am pretty stump on what your talking about. Please be more specific. Are you refering to the turn signal/hazard light indicator along the speedometer and tach. Perhaps the turn signal lightbulb in the headlights? Maybe the hazard button next to the vent???

WTF wow this is amazing.. a flasher either connects the electrical current or disconnects making your turnsignals go on and off and on and off.. it also does the same thing with the hazards.. all i want to know is where its at but oh well

if you want a definition here is one from howstuffworks.com

" the flasher connects to the turn-signal bulbs by way of the turn-signal switch. This completes the circuit, allowing current to flow. Initially, the spring steel does not touch the contact, so the only thing that draws power is the resistor. Current flows through the resistive wire, heating up the smaller piece of spring steel and then continuing on to the turn-signal lights. At this point, the current is so small that the lights won't even glow dimly. After less than a second, the small piece of spring steel heats up enough that it expands and straightens out the larger, curved piece of spring steel. This forces the curved spring steel into the contact so that current flows to the signal lights unimpeded by the resistor. With almost no current passing through the resistor, the spring steel quickly cools, bending back away from the contact and breaking the circuit. The cycle then starts over. This happens at a rate of one to two times per second. "

Well, based on the info you're providing, this is all I can think you're talking about. The steering wheel covers most of the location, but you can see the right side of it

Oh, for god's sake. It's the damned flasher control unit, it lives in the console near the ECU. Pull the driver's side console cover, turn on the blinkers, find the one that's clicking.

hahaha ROFL .. thanks defiant i was starting to 2nd guess myself on how much people actually knew on this site.. maybe it was how i worded it? oh well.. i pulled both sides off still cant find it.. but now i can narrow my search at least.. and the problem is its not clicking.. thats why i gotta hunt it down.. thanks again :thumb:

and relay would be the correct term if I'm not mistaken

actually it would be 'flasher control unit' like defiant had said earlier.. or flasher :thumb:

you are in the same boat as me.. just do basics.. take a test light and check the fuzes and then if no luck check out the flasher unit.. if not you got some wires disconnected and it could be hard to find.. let me know how it goes.. :thumb:

I work in an electronics factory, funnily enough we mostly construct automotive lights. Tails, sides, headlights and even that loud beeping sound in your ford/gm vehicle that reminds you to put on your seatbelt.

We use the term "relay". The term "flasher" is overly generic and just.. imprecise. I dare you to go to a parts store and ask for a flasher..

haha i just found mine....
take off ur driver side console dash thing (on the floor under the steering wheel)
the 'flasher control unit' is in a little black box. its a couple inches below the radio, on its own little metel shelf. (it will take a while to find, but wen u do find it u will feel stupid)
open it up, and look at the back of the board.
sodder wire bypassing the board thats blown.

or if ur like me and after soldering, it works accept one side cuz the relay itself is bad... email me at [email protected] to tell me where u get a new one :D

cuz i tried every automotive store, the dealer ship, and even ebay and i couldnt find a place that even knows what im talkin about.

haha.. ROFL that'll haunt me in my dreams.. yea i think i just found mine.. and yea.. do feel pretty stupid  im thinking of just going to autozone and pick up another.. they should have one.. i think
