Anyone running a Remus turbo muffler on 3" exhaust?

I know the inlet size is 2", 2.25", 2.5" stepped and I was wandering if the inlet can be cut and replaced with a 3" one. How would that affect the performance of the muffler?

If not, what did you do to make your's work?

Probably wouldn't hurt performance, but it might make is rusty easier/faster. It would also be alot of work....
