Has anyone ever done a 3" exhaust from the turbo back and used the stock muffler? What do you guys think about taking the stock muffler and cutting it open and running a straight pipe into it and stopping it right before the dual exits, then re-welding it shut? Maybe some variance of that. Any ideas? I love the way the stock exhaust tips look on my car and I would like to stay "sleeping". Thanks for the help. :dsm: :thumb:

The 2 inlet 1 outlet magnaflow muffler part number 12198 has been used by many members on this site including myself with great results. It is straight through, when you hold it up to the light you can see right out both outlets.

To those bashing it without any knowledge about the product keep your comments to yourself as not to misinform other users.

I am actually.
I'm glad it flows well and you can hear your turbo through it, but the fact remains it was designed for large vehicles like a truck and to have piping come off of those dual outlets and split to either side of the vehicle for dual exhausts.

The perfect muffler would be one of the dual tipped street series with a 3" inlet, however, they only seem to produce the nice SS street series with a 2.25 inlet.
We'll have to do some more searching to find the ideal candidate.

As long as its HIGH FLOW and is desinged well its FINE"!

DSMs all get the same sound, were not hondas that need different mufflers to get different exhaust notes.

Its either DEEP or Really really Deep.

Not if he hollows it out. I think my mechanic ran a 3" pipe right through the stock muffler. No restriction at all.

If its hollow out then there is nothing in it at all, Id like somone to show me why its restrictive when there IS NOTHING IN IT ANY MORE!

I was going to do that with my car but my stock exhaust wasnt usable anymore.

I think the tips will still be a restriction 3" piping down to two 1.?" tips? I like the idea but I like my Magnaflow better. Good luck and post some clips when you get it done :thumb:

I told them it was there race/street series I don't think they call it that now. I love it definately no "truck" muffler and it looks like stock but with 2"5 tips
