Anyone Know What This Is?

Hey everyone. I bought this car about 4 months ago and they said that it had a ECU tuning plug and play system in it. It doesn't look like a DSMlink and it doesn't look like a ECU+ from mach v. It has no brand on it or anything. Just a white sticky with a few numbers. If any of you guys have a clue what this is let me know.

The closest thing that I thought MIGHT be it was this but i cant really tell.

is there a handheld unit to this piece, maybe a PMS EFI system.

Maybe a megasquirt since you have to build it your self.

nope, no handheld, separate piece, or anything..the kid said i could download the software but I can't find anything.

Tried to just plug it into my laptop to see if anything came up and no luck their either

Those cables won't plug and play, you need the software to talk to that box. Take the numbers off of it and put it into google, you'll eventually find something. Otherwise, track down the person who sold you the car.

It has a serial port, it could be a megasquirt... take pictures of the inside of it, that may help... maybe it's too small to be ms.

I would open the case and take a look inside, the pcb probqbly has some markings or numbers that may be helpful to identfy what it is.

How did you try to connect to it from the laptop? HyperTerminal?

There is a USB that comes out of my CD Deck area and I followed it down to make sure it was actually connected to something and it was connected to the box. But when I plug it in I get nothing.

That isn't just some Wideband O2 controller, is it? It looks about the size of my Zeitronix box, but without the labels. Zeitronix Wideband O2 controllers have phone jack type connectors on them, so yours probably isn't that, but maybe another brand?

Nope..im planning on getting a AEM wideband 02 in a couple weeks here..but right now I just have a regular A/F gauge. No luck with any of those numbers on the sticker on google either . I wish I knew what it was so I could get the software.

Could it be ecu+? I have ecu+ but a silver version and it looks a lot like that.
Worth a try checking with that.

That was my first thought...and thats what the kid who owned the car before me claims it to be. Could it be an older version. I didnt see anything on the site or anything that looked alike. When I get home im going to take it apart and see whats inside

This may sound like a stupid question, but was the ignition on when you plugged the USB cord in? Windows won't usually recognize devices unless they have power.

Those white clips, they get spliced into the ECU wiring? Or go elsewhere? Where ever the wires end, is what that box controls, apparently.

Follow the yellow brick road! & you should have a clue as to what its function is at least.

Well I'm pretty sure its some sort of tuning applicatoin...just need to figure out which one so I can get the software.
