So can anyone get me the part number for this piece? It's the sleeve that goes through the bottom of the rear shock. I've tried looking through Mitsubishi CAPS and the Factory Service Manuals. This might only be able to be answered through previous experience.

your best bet is to take it to a local mitsu dealership and ask them. they should have diagrams you can look at to identify which part it is.

Did that already. They can't figure it out either. But then again most of the time the parts person at a mitsu dealership isn't exactly the most informed person about these cars. "Okay so it's a 1998 Eclipse GST.......... is it All Wheel Drive?"

i've never even seen one of those best thing to do is to pick up a haynes manuel and look at the rear knuckle or other spots. they have a break down of every part and bolt on your car.

I have a Haynes Manual it doesn't show jack.

Yeah I need a new one or even a used one. As long as it doesn't have a bolt snapped off in it. LOL I ended up drilling the bolt out of this one and rethreading it. It works but the bolt doesn't tighten down completely. I'm going to get the factory bolt for this piece this week and see if that helps but I really need a new/used one of these. All I know is it bolts into the knuckle and the sleeve slides through the bottom of the rear shock.

I work at a Mitsu dealer and would be happy to try to help you figure out what the part # is. My parts manager already left for the day, but Monday I could take a look. Shoot me a PM during the day and I'll give it a shot.

I would go to the dealer and help them find it on the computer. Most parts dept. employees are more than willing to let you help them, help you. If you can get them to bring up a pic of the rear shock area. You can point it out for them.

I do it all the time at different dealerships (Mitsu., Audi, Mercedes, VW) and I've never had a problem.
