I first heard of this (DurAlt) today at work from our site engineer that uses this on all his vehicles and even his competition fishing boat. And swears on how good of a product it is, cutting his mpg's down by 35-40%, reducing any smoke, and keeping his vehicles idling correctly, reducing knock, and lowering the required octane number!! :/

Here are links to different products that talk about reducing your cars tailpipe emissions by crazy percentages!

DurAlt FC-Gasoline 2 oz (16 Bottle Case)

Econal 64 oz - For Gasoline (1 Bottle)

(explains how this on works)

They are a bit expensive upfront but its in a good bulk amount, and with the gas they swear you'll save it pays for itself!

Can anyone back ANY of what they claim on the sites? About MPG's AND Emissions?

Ive looked up reviews on it and all the reviews ive read seem to say this is a truely amazing product, and im looking for any "closer to home" experiances from my fellow DSM'ers!
And also wondered if it would be ok to use on a performance build turbo gas engine!

Ive always used SeaFoam in my tank if I ever thought I needed to clean up the carbon buildup and what not, but this stuff seems promising in keeping all that under wrap!
And if it DOES truly reduce the carbon emissions my car emits, it might be 20 times easier for me to pass the SMOG test here in Austin!

There's extensive data they have to back their claims but Im always skeptical about ANY fuel additives and feel it's a waste of money!

Little hint on this comment:

Before the sniff test, get a full tune-up-plugs (right temp plugs), air filter WITH air can intact so your A/F ratios are correct, change the oil right before the test (and leave out that SEA FOAM junk out of the gas tank-that's an "additive" that the sniff test will nail you to the coffin for sure, and this fuel junk stuff will help dig your grave!), seal up any vacuum leaks, drive it on the freeway RIGHT before the sniff test so the thing is super hot, and I bet that you'll pass with flying colors.

:D ... doing the ounce of acetone per 10 gallons of fuel in the tank prob does the same trick.

making 'winter gas' out of 'summer gas' to make it evaporate quicker .. is what it looks like.

"Additives" - who needs them. Motor's weren't made to operate on additives, but to operate on gas and oil.

..another form of "snake oil". This is about as bad as them "Pulstar" Spark plugs ......

"Thx, but I'll pass." Just keeping up with the regular prevent maintenance on any motor is all it really needs..and it's definitely more easier on the pocketbook.

Sorry for being such a "crankwad"on this, but been around too many motors and none of them have never needed any of this fancy stuff to operate any better. Only thing that does help better is using synth oils with turbo motors.

Really? If it cut his MPG by 40 percent, spread the word!

For just pennies a gallon, the world's fuel "shortage" could be averted, hippies' cries appeased, and the polar bears could rest in cold comfort!

It's a load of crap. Just keep filling up with premium.

Course, if one wants to be sneaky and nosy, do a BBB search on this, or any company -to see if it's legit or not. www.bbb.org

Another one is: Ripoff Report | Scams, reviews, complaints, lawsuits and frauds. File a report, post your review. Consumers educating consumers. if one thinks a scam is going on.

But, what does tip this off is that when you goto the "contact us" link and all pops up is an email box and no direct contact info as in biz address, phone number or personal contact, that right there raises a red flag that something is terribly fishy.

Remember "Slick-50"

This is why i ask things that bogle my mind! I Couldn't see anyway it would work, and I hardly ever use additives, nothing but seafoam at times, but this seemed to be way to good to be true!

I thank you all for the comments!
Its too much upfront for me to test out on my own to see so i figured id ask everyone here! ;)
