Anyone have Aftermarket IC pipes that appear stock?

So I know that Stock IC piping is Rubber and has a mesh type coating. Well I am in the process of "DeTuning" the car and want everything as stock as possible. Im looking for a stock exhaust or make a new stock exhaust with cutout, and I am done with the painted IC pipes. Is there anything that can be used to Wrap the IC piping to make them appear stock? They are already Black but its "Hot" where I live now and need everything to look stock as possible. Thanks

What's wrong with painted or anodized pipes?

Being in CA, I think he's more reffering to "hot" as being hassled by "the man" for non CARB conforming parts and maybe getting tickets or car impounded. The poor CA guys can't have so much as a cone style K&N unless it's got a CARB sticker/number without risking tickets or worse. Not to mention tryong to get it plated and passed emmision testing and safety inspection officers.

I would say go to a bone yard and find some of that material or a similar wrap of sorts and put it around the piping you have

I know you said they were black, but you did not specify if it was a flat, glossy or textured finish. I do suggest using a wrinkle black coating on the pipes for a factory "plastic" look.

exactly what I meant. Its getting bad out here and Im going to end up modifying a stock 2g intake box to house a filter in my gvr4. that maybe an option,

It is Flat Black, but it started to chip a lot already. Wrinkle black maybe a good alternative as well. Does this come in Heat Resistant paint?

Yes, they do make hi-temp black wrinkle paint, pep boys and advance both carry it. And I feel your pain on the CARB hassle, I bought my 1g gsx near san francisco and literally had it temporarily registered for over 2 years when I lived in CA because it wouldn't pass smog. If you're interested, I have a 1g HKS intake can that has a carb sticker on it, and I've been considering parting with it recently. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I also second the thought of going to a scrap yard and finding some of that mesh. There's a bunch of them in your area. Imight even have some laying around that i could send with the intake

O and for the chipping paint, you need to rough up the surface of the pipe with some sandpaper or something before you re-coat. They also make primer for bare metal, might want to look into that

Good looking out , thanks. Yea I'm 10 minutes from San Francisco , and it's pretty bad out here. I run Speed Density so need for an intake , thanks though. Ive found something called tech fit silica wrap but it's pretty pricey but looks oem for sure.

This is Bud here intruducing flex seal..It's like liquid rubber in a can...


Might make the hard piping look like stock rubber piping..Just a thought..Might work to fool the fuzz...
