Anyone ever broke their fluid pump drive gear?

so this is my pump after 3 passes at full line pressure followed by complete failure of all gears. has anyone ever seen this break before and know what caused it? this is the pump fluid drive gear (i believe) in my auto trans pump

We did that a long time ago when we did not install the converter properly during an engine swap.It was our first auto and we put the converter on first like you would a clutch. Then we had to fight to get the tranny in, which jammed up the input shaft, which broke the pump. After the fix we learned the converter goes into the tranny, then you install the tranny. Did you make the same mistake we did?

no. the engine and trans have not been separated in 7 years. so, no. has been in there over 30000 miles
