hahha... funny to listen to the guy trying to explain to the general public what an intake and SAFC do, to bad he sounds like an idiot to anyone that knows the basics. go fox 5! :hellyeah: "the intake brings in more air and exhaust into the motor..."

well, that sucks racelegal was busted on friday. sorry i couldn't make it i had duty, but that won't happen again for awhile. my cars currently under the knife and getting its AWD rear end and 5 speed transmission installed. ill get pictures up eventually, im working on it everyday with my buddy from the time we get off work until we pass out from exhaustion but once the swaps done it will be worth it... hopefully it works. haha.

a SONIC opened today in santee... we def. need to do our next meet up there since its been years since ive had sonic. lets get some dates out there and see what works...

:dsm:

Is that so? I'll have to ask one of our VR-4's to go down there. This Saturday I made 303AWHP, BUT there's a local San Diegan with a mid 10-sec 1/4 mile VR-4 that put down 605AWHP. This is with a full weight 38xx car.

Suba-whaaaat?:p

PS: Which one of you attends the Eastlake meets in a white 2G? I've seen you there the last 2 times. Last week I was parked next to my buddy's red FD3S. Say hi dammit.

who has a vr4? galant or 3k? i would like to see another GVR4 down here sometime, i should try hittin up the eastlake meet.

Ted

That would be the twin-turbo 3000GT's sir. The Galant VR-4 is especially rare and hard-to-find nowadays.

mmmmm. twin turbo 3kgt vr4 would be sweet. stock how much do they put down? 280? im on a wall with my gvr4.. sell or keep.

anyways, ill see into heading to this eastlake meet. see what its all about. is it like the fusion meet?

Mmmmmm.....Santee Sonics meet sounds wonderfull. Oh to finally put that scantilizing advertised food only available in LA in my mouth.....I'm in. Sounds like a good excuse for family lunch.

The 3/S [3000GT/Stealth] platform has badass cars, but they definitely are more difficult to maintain and work on compared to a DSM. My stock first generation [91-93] puts down ~225AWHP stock, so I've managed to increase its output tremendously . The second gens [94-99] put down ~240AWHP stock.

The Eastlake meet is the same idea as Fusion, except it's located in the suburbs of Chula Vista. I live in Eastlake and admit that it's a really nice community. Come check it out tomorrow night anytime after 9p.

Good luck with your GVR4 man. They will always be the true original "Evolution".

i drive by that sonics ALL the time, that place hasnt slowed down since it opened... the damn lines are to the streets and around the corners..

Where and when is the eastlake meet? I might be able to check it out my 6yr old is on spring break so would be fun to have him hang out with me a bit.

The address is 1725 Eastlake Parkway, Chula Vista, CA 91915. I hope to see you there. Say hi if you do manage to attend!

BTW, be forewarned that there usually are some retarded guys, ricers, and the sort among some of the true tuners. They are the ones who usually get pulled over LOL.

Will there be any meets / get togethers scheduled Friday or Saturday? Wife just slammed the longarm of the law on me said I can't go out and play tonight at eastlake. So I have scheduled Friday oil change, since Ace Tire had advertised free change if you bring in 5 cans of food, of course it has to be by appointments too, but hey can't beat that deal. Not to mention she won't give me gas money until Friday :( .

^Aw, what a bummer!. At least you're being optimistic about it right? LOL. According to San Diego's weather forecast, it's predicted to shower this Friday and Saturday =/ sooo I'm not too sure in regards to this weekend. There are meets always going on, so there's no worries man:)

For those of you who do attend the Eastlake Wednesday meets, I was able to talk to a Chula Vista Police officer last night. I wanted to know what all the hype and fret was after the release of Fast and Furious PLUS Chula Vista's new granted money towards cracking down on street racers.

I quote myself from SoCal3S:

Mmk I'm home now [safe & sound + ticketless]. As you can see in the attached image, I came out of In-N-Out to discover the police car parked in front of my GT. The funny thing was that shortly beforehand, another police car drove alongside me while I went to pick up one of my best girlfriends who is a sister to me [she accompanies me as my assistant/alibi for my tuning sessions at night].

The officer claims that they definitely prefer the In-N-Out parking lot because it doesn't interfere and disrupt the community/families who are shopping at Target where it was previously held at. Additionally, he feels it's quite nice to have food conveniently located to the meet. His patrolling buddy and him actually swing by every Wednesday to check out the nice cars. He'd rather find us socializing and mingling instead of shooting each other and wreaking havoc.

What I found IRONIC was his words on racing and doing stupid shit...
He said that he understands the urge to drive fast and didn't mind as long as it's the right place when nobody is around. If the person could clearly see the officer and proceeded to do something hoping to not get caught, then there obviously is no excuse. In short, I think he was indirectly implying that it was okay to do stuff at night whenever "the coast is clear".... LOL.

THE STORY about last week: 3 or 4 cars were pulled over with 2 or so impounded [all were Hondas]. Three of the kids pulled over had NO license [two were 16]. One or two of them were actually DEPORTED... Sorry if my story is inaccurate... and yes, they were racing in Eastlake.

I honestly think that they scared everyone away tonight because they were chilling in two separate lanes talking to everyone in huge groups. There really is NOTHING to worry about if you're just conversing, eating, and being chill. There are a handful of cars [mainly Neon SRT-4's] with oversized front mounted intercoolers and 4-bangers with exhausts louder than mine. The officer didn't have any negative remarks on my car and even asked an AWJ member and I how "forum/blog groups" discover the meets and what regions they cover.

Overall, it was a very interesting meet.

Man have I been having alternator problems. Ive already went through 2 AutoZone ones, they are lifetime warranty but I can stand having to fix the same problem over and over. Feel like ive been making no progress.

Hey Alex and Corey. still want to do the battery re location? Let me know, found a dude that can get the stuff pretty cheap. Good stuff to.

Maybe spend a little weekend doing it. And I say we do it at Corey's house cause Corey's crib is crowded with girls, Alex's just has drive by's and murders!LOL

Whats with the hating on Chili's, haha Like Mexican Food is better! :ohdamn:I say we all just go to Souplantation and have some salads next time we meet if there is weight conscious fellas in the group, But lets get something going again.

I say we try to meet weekly just to shoot the shit, nothing crazy like races and all, but just to keep us motivated ya know.

Yeah altenators getting blown does suck, I just found out that my FPS (fuel pressure solenoid) was malfunctioning which in turn is lowering my MPG, and I can't use my turbo T_T then they said don't worry we can fix it........open your wallet and hand over $250. I have only owned the car for a year and already put near 3k into it.....but hey I did buy it to kinda build it ground up.

Who is "they" and how do they know that your solenoid has gone bad? Did they even perform the proper test on it with a vacuum pump and applied voltage? $250 is a hefty price for small problems that you can diagnose and troubleshoot yourself =/

They being ACE automotive. I took the car there for possible boost leak when the car just did not want to get up to speed, I don't have any tools or garage to do any testing for myself. But they tested my boost tested fine, so checked my CEL codes and tested the solenoid and said that they were getting negative reading. Soooo $192 for solenoid, and the rest for testing, draining fluids to ensure no metal fragments in transmission, transmission flush, and refill transmission fluid. It sucks so bad without having a place to work on a car >.>

whats up man...
heat kills an alternator and our cars run !!!HOT!!! so you'll go through them fairly quickly. the only way to fix the problem is getting the alternator relocation kit from jays racing, i think its about $150.00 for EVERYTHING. problem is you've gotta get rid of the A/C to do it and the install is a PITA... something to think about though?

id love to meet up but all my free time is spent up in escondido doing my M/T & AWD conversion... :hellyeah: haha. the battery relocation will be a nice "touch" but AWD and M/T is where its at right now. if anyone wants to lend a hand and learn a bit shoot me a PM and ill get you directions and a time, there might be some free beer too when you arrive. Dan and I are about 6 hours into the project and have got the entire FWD rear end and gas tank out and are getting the holes cut/welded for the longer AWD rear end bolts and mounting bolts for the gas tank. pictures to come...

i saw that article about the half a million being funded to the chula vista PD to crack down on street racing/illegal modded cars... maybe they should put half a million in and get EVERYONE a real 1/4 mile track instead of a 1/8 mile parking lot. :banghead:

keep in touch and alex we need to get together about those wheels son... and the other parts to be powder coated.

:dsm:

Corey,

You said it man. All the "top dogs" that I know concur that having a true 1/4 mile track would serve a great purpose.

Ah, I didn't know that you needed help! My spring break was last week and I could have offered to lend a hand. Good luck with your conversion though! It sounds badass. I love my AWD and wouldn't trade my 5-sp for the 6-sp.

Just tell me when and where Corey and Im there to help. Chance to practice on someone else's car, shit im there! Besides, my car is next for the AWD swap... and you better know this!!!!

^^^^^ no actually I'm next you need to sign up on the list haha

...if the install goes well and my car actually moves on its own again dan and i were both thinking about doing swaps for people, of course parts would have to be provided. its really not as bad as youd think, im going to be wrenching on her first thing tomorrow if anyone wants to come up? shoot me a PM.

:dsm:

first of all, HAPPY EASTER!
