so how was the eastlake meet? do alot of people show up?

It has become more calm and open with more people mingling. I honestly believe that some people have decided to steer clear for a while from fear of the police. With the release of F&F, CVP on alert, and the recent news of the 4 Hondas... who wouldn't be? well, maybe the ill-informed because the officers are pretty straight and chill with us.

It was nice meeting you guys at the meet next time I'll look around before I open the hood as it was like a sugar call to flies LOL.

Yeah I'm rolling stock ATM too I'm just gonna start painting stuff though and starting to convert my interior to black.

Ok so I was trying to fix the problem of tighting the bolt on the j-pipe so I was trying to take of the manifold and one of the bolts from the manifold to the turbo broke and a piece is still in there is there any way of getting it out. Because I wanna fix it because I'm pretty sure I have a boost leak there because the car is running like shit and it turns of sometimes:ohdamn:

Ouch, is the leftover piece INSIDE the hole or OUTSIDE exposed? If it's inside, you may have to drill and tap it. If it's outside, it may be possible to remove depending on how much there is to work with.

In regards to the J-pipe, you should try some gasket sealer in addition to the gasket. Many people use RTV and so forth.

i don't know yet I haven't removed it yet but seems like it's inside :/ will the sealer take care of the boost leak? Because when the car is on if you get close enough you can hear a hissing sound pretty sure it's coming from the j-pipe

thats what manifold to turbo bolts do...
a. break off in the housing and need taped out
b. strip. in turn, stripping the housing as well which then needs tapped anyway

and after the 3rd or 4th time doing it you just kind of stand there and do one of these :toobad:
then get on an online vendor and order 4 more "just incase" bolts to refill your pool of spares because you know your going to break them eventually.

to check for leaks just get a post it note or sheet of paper and check for movement while your cars running, exhaust leaks only though... just watch that radiator fan kicking on, you don't want your hand down in there.

the 16g i bought from alex had a bolt broke off inside, i just took it down to a machine shop in national city where the fat chica's roam and had it tapped out for $40. my BEP hotside stripped one just the other day so im going to be doing the samething here in the next week or so... since your ordering a new bolt you might as well get 4 and since your removing it from the manifold you might as well get a new exhaust mani and mani to turbo gasket if they aren't 6 months new? they are good "while your at its" to prevent unwanted exhaust leaks down the road... and be sure to use that nasty grey/silverish anti-seize goo from your local parts store. i use it on EVERYTHING and i hadn't ever broken off a mani to turbo bolt until i changed to the BEP housing... i blame it on bullseye performane. haha.

Looks like gofer, george and sonic are in the same boat in need to have their hot side of their turbos drilled and tapped. Its an epidemic. For boost leaks try using soapy water in a spray bottle and spray away wherever the hissing noise is coming from.

alright I'll give this a try right now would gasket sealer take car of the boost leak because I can't tighten the bolt on the j-pipe all the way

use a washer or an appropriate bolt length. I wouldn't recomend gasket sealer because heat from the manifold would tender it making it easy for boost pressure will blow it right out.

also, Sonic this is what i recomend to use at the oil return line flange. Always worked really well, just dry up all the oil with a clean rag as good as possible for the gasket maker to work its magic.

If you are going to use gasket sealer use the copper sealer, it is made for high temps. My recommendation would be to use a washer and the sealer. Just my opinion though.

$10 to drill and re-tap each hole.

when we took coreys we just dropped it off and picked up the next day

Well time to install it back, thanks nitto :D. btw this keyboard is better.

update : They did a good job all the bolts went in and tight =].

They being ACE automotive. I took the car there for possible boost leak when the car just did not want to get up to speed, I don't have any tools or garage to do any testing for myself. But they tested my boost tested fine, so checked my CEL codes and tested the solenoid and said that they were getting negative reading. Soooo $192 for solenoid, and the rest for testing, draining fluids to ensure no metal fragments in transmission, transmission flush, and refill transmission fluid. It sucks so bad without having a place to work on a car >.>

next time you have issues with your car hit me up. i have a driveway and a have a garage full of tools and help buttloads of locals work on their dsms.. plus, i coulda given you a way better price on that solenoid off my race car, since i won't be needing it. LOL.. sorry you had to fork over a wad of cash. if ya need anything let me know. any of you guys. been on dsmtuners and other dsm forums for a long time, and never had it register in my head to cruise in here and say hi.

or to help others out on here. i usually have peeps come to me... but i guess its better to pop in where it matters. i try to give to the dsm community as much as possible. i work on cars, tune car, modify the hell outta cars. i one day am gonna be opening up my own performance, tuning, and custom fab shop. i have plenty of experience with dsm or any car for that matter. and don't mind gaining more experience or extending a helping hand.:hellyeah:
