I filled up my radiator with antifreeze, and started the car. Then i notisted a little bit of antifreeze on the ground. It looks like its driping out where the belts are. Do you think its a crack in the block? or a bad gasket or what?

There is a small weep hole in the water pump pulley shaft. It lets you know when the bearings are starting to wear out. There is also a water pump gasket there, and a few coolant lines on that side of the engine. Check the lines, then check the water pump pulley area. If necessary, use a bit of UV dye to track the leak origin.

And be careful to not put the water pump pulley on backwards. :D

Also: One common source of a water pump leak is the o-ring not installed properly. You must replace the o-ring in the crossover inlet pipe by putting it on the pipe end first, coating with coolant, and then insert pipe with o-ring into water pump – do not put the o-ring into water pump first as it will not seat properly and will leak. :nono:

make sure you go to satan and buy your o ring there. dont go to an auto parts store!!! i kept leaking at the water pipe o ring after i put my head back on because the o rings i got were to thin. i even tried using rtv also and it still would leak. i went to mitsu and bought an oem o-ring, slide it over the water pipe end FIRST then slide it in to the water pump. The o ring satan sold me actually made a "popping" sound like it locked into place when i put it in. the kragen one just went in and out really easy. $3.06 for a stock oring and it stopped my leak, it was noticably thicker also. just FYi
